Tata Electronics (a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Sons Pvt. Ltd.) is building India’s first AI-enabled state-of-the-art Semiconductor Foundry. This facility will produce chips for applications such as power management IC, display drivers, microcontrollers (MCU) and high-performance computing logic, addressing the growing demand in markets such as automotive, computing and data storage, wireless communications and artificial intelligence. Tata Electronics is a subsidiary of the Tata group. Key Responsibility Strategic Sourcing & Procurement • Develop and execute sourcing strategies • Identify, evaluate, and onboard global suppliers • Lead RFQs/RFPs, supplier negotiations, and contract finalization • Monitor market trends, pricing fluctuations, and technology advancements Supplier Management & Qualification • Establish vendor qualification processes in collaboration with quality and engineering teams. • Drive supplier performance metrics (cost, quality, delivery, and technology roadmap alignment). • Conduct supplier audits and ensure adherence to semiconductor industry standards. Technical Collaboration • Work closely with process engineers and R&D teams on material specifications, including: • Evaluate and qualify new materials and second-source suppliers. Supply Chain & Risk Management • Ensure continuity of supply for critical materials and manage supply disruptions. • Develop dual-sourcing strategies and buffer plans for high-risk items. • Analyse supply-demand dynamics and maintain optimal inventory levels. • Collaborate with planning teams to ensure alignment with production schedules. 5. Cost Optimization • Drive cost reduction initiatives through negotiation, volume leverage, and process optimization. • Conduct should-cost analysis • Track cost trends and identify opportunities for savings. 6. Cross-functional Coordination • Engineering (process/material specifications) • Quality (incoming inspection, failure analysis) • Manufacturing (usage, yield impact) • Finance (budget and cost control) Qualification Bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemical engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Supply Chain, or related field. Experience Young professionals within 5 years of experience ready to re-locate to Dholera/Ahmadabad Semiconductor experience ‘Good to have’.
